My bezzie bud Josh came up to visit me at the beginning of the week and took some photos of me trying to look model-like and stuff in my garden.
In this outfit I'm wearing a vintage shirt, my dad's old binocular case, cut off jeans and Jeffrey Campbell Litas. My pink hair's super faded now so I should probably re-do it at some point. I don't really have much else to do this summer... I've also got a blue hair dye but I'm a bit worried about putting that over my orange hair. OH WELL YOLO. (ew I just said yolo I think I might go and drown myself)

Can't even
I bought these adorable gingerbread man shoes from the ASOS sale a few days ago. They're so comfortable and the mint green is so refreshing. I've never owned anything pastel coloured before, I've always found it too girly for me, but these are happy and fun and summery and I can't wait to wear them for the whole of summer break.
I've matched them with a vintage shirt, last year's Topshop denim skirt and lace socks I cut from an old pair of tights.

Over there
I've been knitting furiously for the past month, and it was all for last week's college fashion show. Stupidly, I decided to make five garments. This meant very little sleep and bleeding friction burns on my fingers.
Having taken three weeks off at the beginning of make time due to my operation, I genuinely thought I'd get three, maybe four, outfits ready for the show. But I worked my big butt off and managed five! (In this photo I'm wearing my sleeve the wrong way round. oops.) I was surprised to win best collection at the prize giving afterwards and super happy with the Topshop voucher I got!
On a slightly different topic, this evening I dyed my hair pink yeyyyy. It's gone very pink on the ends and kind of peachy colour in the middle. Obviously my roots are still black like ALWAYS. Here's a cute Instagram pic of me thinking I'm good at photography because I can put cheap edits on my iPad photos. (My name on it is horriblelauren if you wanna follow lol)
Nice cartoon lips Lauren.

Everything's Made To Be Broken
I bought this new top from eBay for mere pennies. It's so cute and I love the box shape of it. The back buttons are super fiddly but WHO CARES WHEN IT'S THIS NICE.
I wore it with charity shop shorts that I cut off myself. I bought these about two years ago but never wore them because they were knee length and looked pretty gross but last week I had the GENIUS idea to cut them short! I think I should probably copyright the idea of cutting things into shorts because it's so original and I don't know anyone else that does it.
These are new make ups I got for myself. Well, the MAC lipstick isn't new at all, I've already worn it on here before. The Max Factor lipstick is such a nice colour ('Mulberry'), but it's shiny nooooooo. That's why I've got the MAC Film Noir one there, because a little bit of it on top of the shiny yucky one makes it a wonderful, glorious UN-shiny plum colour! Both nail varnishes are Barry M ('Blueberry' & 'Mint Green'), and both are super summery colours. Fab.

Start over.
I've been neglecting this blog recently and for that I am extremely apologetic. Life seems to have got in the way of things lately and I simply have forgotten about this little space. Last weekend I was taken to hospital with appendicitis and this week has been recovery/trying not to get too far behind on college work. My body seemed to have got timings wrong on this one and I've missed the first week of Final Collection preparations. You would not believe how painful knitting has been for me this week after my operation. But things should be back on track soon, I'll just have to work harder than I would've done.
Other than my hospitalisation, nothing else of major importance has happened to me. I made this cake for a friend's birthday which is probably the most ace thing I've ever done/seen. It tasted real good too, with chocolate chips in the sponge and chocolate spread between layers. I must admit the white icing was ready-rolled, but I made the ducks myself.
Old Queenie came to my home town last month with was the most exciting thing ever to have happened to me ever. Unfortunately the press set up their cameras and step ladders right in front of us so the view wasn't very good. But luckily tall friend was on hand and he managed to snap this beaut of a photo.
I'll try to get back to outfit posting this month. I haven't been feeling very inspired by clothes recently, and that paired with a complete lack of money equals me not dressing so good. But I'm feeling more positive about things now so I should be able to get the fashion side of this blog up and running again. Peace out.
