New

First outfit post in a long long time! As you can tell I have put on a lot of weight since I last updated this blog. I'm so much healthier than I was and my relationship with food is really good now. I didn't use this blog to discuss any difficulties I had with that sort of thing, but I'm glad to say I'm happy and healthy now!

Tshirt - Sparkle & Fade @ Urban Outfitters, Overalls - Topshop, Shoes - Schuh

I love these overalls from Topshop so much. I got them last summer and I wear them basically all the time. The elephant print is so cute! These holographic shoes are from last summer too. Unfortunately I can't wear them as much as I'd like to as they're a bit too small so I have to plan to wear them when I know I won't be walking very far.

Long time!

Hello,

It's been such a long time since I updated this blog! University has really taken up all of my time this year. I'm back for summer now and with nothing to do until I move to New York in December, I'm sure I'll be able to keep this up better.

I've felt a little uninspired by clothes recently, I think that's mainly because all of my energy has been going into my uni work and focusing on my portfolio to get placements. I can't afford to buy magazines and with no time to check out fashion blogs I feel like I've really lost touch with things. But I'm going to get back into it! I've had my tumblr page running again for the last few weeks and just scrolling through my dash has inspired me so much. I also have a new Instagram and not many followers, so please check that out!

This year at uni has been hectic, I've done five separate projects, had work shown at the trade show SpinExpo in Shanghai, won a knitted interiors competition with Rowan Wool, knitted three garments and numerous half garments, and put together another.

This is my final garment for an eco project. We didn't have to knit for this as it was more about the fashion and drape aspect. It's made from a tea dyed jersey, recycled fabric, and the pattern cutting technique called subtractional pattern cutting (from Julian Roberts).

I'm going to get back to outfit posts soon, I need to get some fabric to make a home studio as I can't be bothered to do location shoots all the time. My remote shutter for my camera has broken too so I need to get another one before I can do outside shoots.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. Keep posted for outfit posts and more of my work!

x.

my dna is running out

This is my first ever post from university! Last term my laptop broke so I couldn't upload from here, but now it's working again so I can blog all I like. Welcome to my room in halls, it still doesn't feel like home here but maybe it will one day. In this outfit I'm wearing a shirt from Urban Outfitters, skirt from H&M, tights from Urban Outfitters, socks from Topshop and shoes from Jeffrey Campbell.

I got a tattoo over the Christmas break. It was surprising un-painful and only took 20 minutes to complete. It's of a pampas grass and it has sentimental value to me.

Maybe we should go

This is the jacket I got for Christmas. Isn't it wonderful!

It's vintage and we found it on Asos Marketplace, you should check out the site if you haven't already. You can find some great stuff on there!

I hope everyone had a lovely start to 2013. I stayed in with my mum and we watched Jools Holland's Hootenanny and I drank far too much alcohol.

Dissolve me

I always find this top difficult to style because of the length and the see-through-ness of it. I got it for about £5 in the Zara sale last summer and have worn it about twice since then. Today I've put it with the Hacker dress from Unif, gold glittery socks from Urban Outfitters, a floppy hat from Next last year and Jeffrey Campbell Stinger Spikes.

No Guts

I got these trousers as a Christmas present from my mother. They're perfect as my old leather trousers were getting old and tatty, and I love how these ones sit above the ankle! I'm wearing a T-shirt from No Guts No Glory, a shop in my home town that prints lovely T's. Santa brought me the Topshop socks in his sleigh, and the shoes are Jeffrey Campbell Stinger Spikes.

I'm slowly trying to sort out my room at the moment, I've been such a hoarder in the past but I'm trying to be ruthless with it now. Hopefully in my next post I'll have got rid of a lot more stuff!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas/time off everything.
